My Ordinary Skincare Routine

My Ordinary Skincare Routine

My skincare overhaul started a couple of weeks ago so I have incorporated quite a few new products into my morning and nighttime skincare routines. I have adjusted the number of products I’m using to a minimal so that my skin doesn’t have a bad reaction from the new products I’ve incorporated into my skincare routine. It allows me to determine which new products that I’ve started using are working and which ones might cause irritation or even breakouts. This means that I’ll have to wait before I try the “Buffet” and the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% from The Ordinary skincare brand, which I imagine are both very potent. All of the new products I’ve recently added to my skincare routine are from The Ordinary.

Morning Skincare Routine:

  • Purity Made Simple Cleanser (Philosphy)
  • Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Toner – when needed (Neutrogena)
  • Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (The Ordinary)
  • Ascorbyl Glucoside 12% (vitamin c) – mixed with one drop of the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for faster absorption and zero stickiness (The Ordinary)
  • Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (The Ordinary)
  • Broad Spectrum SPF

Nighttime Skincare Routine:

  • Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes or Cleansing Balm
  • Purity Made Simple Cleanser (Philosphy) used with the Clarisonic
  • Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Toner – when needed (Neutrogena)
  • Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (The Ordinary)
  • Advanced Retinoid 2% – 4x per week (The Ordinary)
  • 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil (The Ordinary)

Skincare Treatment Routine (evening only):

  • Purity Made Simple Cleanser (Philosphy) used with the Clarisonic
  • AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution – once every 1-2 weeks with no other acids (The Ordinary)
  • Face Mask – 1-2x per week
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% – 2x per week with no other acids (The Ordinary)
  • 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil (The Ordinary)

I’m really happy to have found The Ordinary skincare products just when I was dreading spending $45 for a hyaluronic acid serum by Philosophy that I really like. I was also looking around for an affordable vitamin C serum. Eventually, I’ll pick a handful of favorites that I’ll regularly repurchase from The Ordinary. For now, I’m really enjoying experimenting with what might work best for my skin.
