I think I might be getting the hang of getting my hair to hold the curl from my twist-outs. After much trial and error, I really like the easy, simple drugstore styling duo of the Cantu Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream with Argan Oil to moisturize and the Eco Styler Professional Styling Gel with Argan Oil for hold. The Eco Styler with argan oil is a maximum hold styler gel that’s free of alcohol so it doesn’t dry out my hair. It smells fresh and clean as does the Cantu leave-in conditioner, which has become one of my favorite hair styling cream moisturizers. It costs about $7 for a 16 oz. jar.
The Eco Styler Gel is made in several formulas including with Olive Oil. The Moroccan Argan Oil formula is for all hair types and claims to add shine, smooth and condition the hair while offering UV protection. It doesn’t cause itchiness or make my hair crunchy at all. If I use too much of this gel, it flakes. I use an oil to fluff out my twists to prevent frizz. For now, it’s the hold that’s the most important to me.
The many formulations of the Eco Styler Gel costs $5 – $6 for a 16 – 32 oz. jar depending on where you buy them. Both the Eco Styler and Cantu leave-in are available in all drugstores and beauty supply stores including Sally Beauty.
